Designing for First Time Visitors
When working on site layout, you should always keep in mind how a first time end user would understand the site. Structuring content for a website should make accessing the content quick and simple. Unlike reading a book, most users scan for the section they are interested in and only read a portion that is on the page. In order to keep a person on your site, you need to break your content into small sections with visible cues such as headings or blocks.
Avoid placing your content in any container that may look like a web ad since users train themselves to ignore these ads.
Be Concise & Thoughtful
Your textual content should be concise and contain the keywords that you identify potential visitors will use to find your website. Using the keywords you want search engines to use within your content carries much more weight than using a keywords tag.
